VTuber NewsDrop's Guide to CONQuest Festival 2023

As we get ready for CONQuest Festival 2023 (presented by Globe), we are also getting ready to meet VTubers! Here's our guide to everything VTubers at the Sky Islands.

It will be a busy weekend for us as we will be covering CONQuest Festival 2023 happening on the weekend of June 2 to 4 at the Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City. The said event will cover not only the whole SMX Convention Center, but also Seashell Lane, National University MOA Campus, and the Mall of Asia Main Atrium.

While there are lots of activities in store for this festival, we are here to share with you our guide in making your CONQuest 2023 experience much better.

⚠️
While this guide is specifically for VTuber fans who will be participating in the event, most of the suggestions are provided for the general public. Toggle the first two segments below for the basics.

All data are subject to change without prior notice. In case of data conflict, please follow the data posted at the official CONQuest website.

Before the Event

Make sure you have your tickets purchased and ready. At this point, Saturday and Sunday Passes are already sold out. Three-day and Premium Passes are selling out fast, but Friday passes are still up for grabs.

  • Each ticket purchased online will be exchanged to wristbands. On May 31 and June 1, you can exchange your tickets at the 1st Floor Lobby of SMX Manila. Afterwards, exchange your tickets at either Microtel or Mall of Asia Atrium.

Plan your finances. Budget is an important key to take note of. You can allocate your budget to your physical wallet or e-wallet—just don't put everything in one. Merchants accept GCash (or even Maya through QRPh), but if that fails, having cash on hand is indeed quite handy.

Decide how you can get to the Festival the fastest. Prepare a plan based on your budget or distance, whichever is the most relevant. Update: The Floor Plan is now released!

  • For those coming from far away: Make sure you have a hotel room/Airbnb set because rooms are getting occupied for the weekend—it gets more costly as the days pass by.
  • Those who live near the venue can plan out an easier route as early as now, considering the usual traffic situation from your starting point.

Check the weather. We are expecting rainy weather during CONQuest weekend, so prepare your umbrella or raincoat as it can get wet.

Read the FAQ. All of it. The CONQuest website has tons of questions answered, including MeetZone and Shoto's paid Meet and Greet. Once you've read the FAQ and your question is still unanswered, their Discord server is one click away.

Be in your best, comfortable attire. This is the first time we will see a major event happen at multiple areas, so wear anything comfortable. Make sure your shoes fit well, have a spare t-shirt or two, bring an extra towel if you must.

Also take care of your health and hygiene. You'll still need that face mask, fragrance and deodorant as you'll be roaming around with lots of people.

Carry just the important items. You are set to roam around, so pack light. Make sure you have your organized set of items. Here's a set of examples:

  • Photographers: Extra set of fully charged batteries for your camera
  • Cosplayers: Hand-carry bag which you will carry once you're dressed up (because chances are you'll leave the rest of your luggage behind, either at the baggage counter or your hotel room). Prepare coscards as well, as you will be most likely to hand one over instead of spending time jotting your social media details down.
  • Art/Photo Lovers: A clear file where you will store the prints you've bought. A4-sized prints are common but be ready for bigger-sized prints.
  • Gifts: You are allowed to bring gifts, but there are specific types of gifts which will be accepted. This is listed in the FAQs of the CONQuest website.
  • Merch-buyers: Portable tote bag which can fit all those merch you bought from the exhibitors and artists.

Plan your schedule. As early as now, CONQuest has posted its event schedule on its website, helping you make the most out of the day.

  • As with any other event, do expect some adjustments in time—so if you're coming from SMX Manila, give yourself at least 15-20 minutes to run to the next area and rest to prepare yourself for the next activity.

During the Event

If you will be exchanging your tickets during the event weekend, please go to Microtel or the Mall of Asia Atrium first before going to SMX. CONQuest's goal is to address the common concern of guests queueing up at the venue.

Stay nice and be considerate—always. Ask permission to others whenever you want capture photos/videos or get a hold of stuff.

  • People cosplaying did not give you instant permission to do anything malicious or salacious.
  • You are expected to fall in line for so long. You'll never know who'll you land into, so keep in mind to stay calm and collected at all times. Anger and frustration won't get you anywhere.
  • If you are not confident asking your question to a guest, seek help from a staff member and ask them if the question is ok to be asked publicly. Do this before the start of the session if possible.
