The Nominees for the First Kawa Game Awards

Presenting the nominees for the first Kawa Game Awards, which will be streamed alongside The Game Awards on December 8, 7:30pm EST.

The Kawa Game Awards celebrates fun.

The award is not bestowed upon whichever game made the most contributions of Doritos and Mountain Dew to Kawa.

Instead, it is bestowed upon those whose game perfectly encapsulates the theme of the category they were nominated to—or what is the funniest meme.

The voting will be done live during the KGA stream with winners getting a trophy that Elle draws in Microsoft Paint.

We cannot wait for you to join us for the first Annual Kawa Game Awards, and the official NewsDrop debut of the necromancer Eleanor Briarwood and her beloved Booster.

The categories will be as follows for these awards:

These games graced us with amazing soundtracks that further boosted the game's experience. The nominees are

Sonic Frontiers (SEGA)
Pokemon Scarlet/Violet (Nintendo)
Bayonetta 3 (Nintendo)

Best Remaster

These games were brought back from the grave, better and improved upon from what they once were originally. These nominees were picked for how insanely well they were polished and remastered.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn (Square Enix)
Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed (THQ Nordic)
Live A Live (Square Enix)

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak (Capcom)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge (Dotemu / Gamera Games)
Pokemon Scarlet/Violet (Nintendo and The Pokémon Company)

Best Pick-Up / Put-Down

Sometimes, we want to play a game for a couple of minutes in between our breaks and not stress out at all.

These games show us that we don't need to be constantly playing a game and enjoy a quick 15-minute match.

Vampire Survivors (Poncle)
Splatoon 3 (Nintendo)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge (Dotemu / Gamera Games)
Pokemon Legends: Arceus (Nintendo and The Pokémon Company)

Cult of the Lamb (Massive Monster)
Dying Light 2: Stay Human (Techland)
Kirby and the Forgotten Land (Nintendo)

The Wandering Village (Stray Fawn Studio/WhisperGames)
The Spirit and the Mouse (Armor Games Studios)
Rune Factory 5 (XSEED Games/Marvelous)
