Post-OffKai Season!: May 2024 Digest

Mobile Streaming, VTubers and Sports, Major Agency News and more!

Friends, we hope you witnessed and enjoyed our on-ground OffKai Expo coverage – that's not the end of it, because we'll have more stories from the annual VTuber event coming soon!

We're also announcing our collaboration with Acapella, an online magazine which brings up-to-date interviews and updates in a visual way. See their first set of updates this June below!

But First, The A1

Today's edition taps first into the emerging mobile VTuber (vertical) streaming and the sports promotion segments.

Mobile VTuber Streaming

AniLive and IRIAM US have made their debut at OffKai Expo's industry track, and this marks the start of a long journey towards vertical VTuber streaming.

  • AniLive is busy with their Open Alpha phase, adding features into it. They are also working on an Android app coming soon.
    • In case you missed OffKai, they gave away mini-standees of 100 VTubers, gacha-style.
    • Several ex-PRISM Project stars also started streaming into the platform: Ami Amami, Jun Akane, Nana Asteria, Araka Luto, Rita Kamishiro.
    • For Riggers: We understand that the app will have a separate documentation on how Live2D artists can adjust their models to display correctly in the app.
    • They are now collaborating with UwU Media after their successful Niyori Cup.
  • IRIAM on the other hand has opened applications for Founding Streamers who are interested to stream in the platform.
    • In addition, STPR-owned bondlive EN concluded an organizer agreement with the platform, with plans to have talents stream there by fall (tentative).
  • REALITY however decided to collaborate with VShojo's Kuro Kurenai, an interesting collab, we figure.

VTubers and Sports

  • hololive Production secures a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team for a one-night special "hololive Night" on July 5, Friday. Tickets are still available.
  • NIJISANJI on the other hand is playing with the NBA for their major collaboration, selecting the first 10 stars to be paired with teams from the Eastern and Western conferences.
