KAF Collabs with Singer-Songwriter Soshi Sakiyama For “Hug Me”

Rising artist featured on Jujutsu Kaisen teams up with popular virtual artist to perform this collab song

Virtual artist KAF continues her Suite series of collaborative songs, as the latest installment done with singer-songwriter Soshi Sakiyama (Jujutsu Kaisen) for Hug Me, released with a music video Wednesday, June 12.

Hug Me, the latest in KAF's second set of Suite songs, connects with singer-songwriter Sakiyama, who has bridged acoustic rock sounds with more up-tempo dance-pop. This song is described as "a delicate and dashing number with a tenderheart at its center."

Sakiyama, who has become one of Japan's most exciting young players, sang an ending theme to the popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen and embarked on a successful European tour earlier this year.

His ability to fuse acoustic instrumentation with electronic elements works in tandem with KAF’s distinct vocals to create a song both exhilarating and vulnerable.

KAF debuted in 2018 using an anime-style avatar to present herself to the world, while creating music centered around her versatile and powerful voice. As one of the most prominent virtual singers in Japan, her original songs and covers hit millions of views online.

She released her third full-length album in March 2023, showing her growth as an artist as well as her ability to capture the complexities of growing up in 21st century Japan.

KAF performed at some of the country’s most celebrated venues, including a sold-out night at the historic Nippon Budokan in Tokyo and the first-ever arena show by a virtual artist last January.
