Twitch Launches VTuber-Centric Online Event

The event features around 80 VTubers to showcase their streams and content across the wider platform.

Popular streaming platform Twitch has launched a new online event that focuses on the growing VTuber community on the platform. Titled ‘VTuber Takeover 2022’, the event features around 80 VTubers to showcase their streams and content across the wider platform.

Some of the more popular VTubers included in the lineup include Layna Lazar, Takahata, Bao, PorcelainMaid, Girl_Dm, Kabhaal, and Kitsune Eve.

During Twitch’s recent ‘Public Access’ stream, streamers and head of community MerryKish and RayApollo–as well as VTuber ARUUU–described the ‘VTuber Takeover 2022’ event as a gathering of some of the platform’s popular VTubers, where they will be sharing content about how they got into VTubing, and the work that goes into it.

RayApollo also teased that they are consulting with other VTubers to create a "How to Start VTubing on Twitch" article, among other knowledge-sharing activities.

The recent announcement comes after Twitch recently announced a major update, where Twitch partners can now stream on other rival platforms such as YouTube and Facebook after they stream on Twitch.
