5 April Fools' Pranks Done by VTubers in 2024

We've already passed the traditional April Fools' Day last Monday, a day where people pull pranks big or small, good and bad. In the VTubing scene, several kinds of pranks were pulled up, adding to the chaos of the said day.

VTuber NewsDrop lists down five great pranks pulled by VTubers during April Fools' Day.

5.) PhaseCoffee

PhaseConnect, the agency originating from Canada, is often teased as a coffee company fronting as a VTuber agency.

What if one day they changed their direction and transform its VTuber agency business? The talents become endorsers for their coffee brand. If you are not familiar with the in-house gag, you would find this more surprising in contrast to all Phase fans who are aware of this.

4.) Feetnalouette

Several NIJISANJI EN stars changed their profiles on X/Twitter, but the one that stands out the most is Feetnalouette, or Enna Alouette with just her head, thighs, knees and feet. Feet.

Honorable Mention: Rosemi Lovelock as "Hatsuhiro Karada," parodying Tekken game director Katsuhiro Harada. This tweet compiles the rest of the name changes.

3.) Zentreya the Toaster's 2D Model

VShojo's Zentreya has been called a toaster when she showed her mecha self (Reddit's got a brief background on that), so when she debuted her toaster model, things have come full circle (or rectangle, right?).

Honorable Mention: Mint Fantome and Matara Kan's Summer Special Podcast. While didn't felt like a deliberate prank, it is a truly welcomed piece of news.

2.) 00's YouTube Streaming Aesthetic

hololive English -Promise-'s Ceres Fauna and NIJISANJI EN's Ike Eveland made us feel old by bringing back the 00's Windows aesthetics which remind us of the good old days.

Fauna did her Minecraft Monday stream on a different setup complete with a 4:3 screen ratio and mic clipping. The sounds were louder than usual.

Streaming using an "Unregistered NijiCam 2" software, Ike streamed his Windows XP desktop, doing various stuff in it. We can also hear the buzzing audio sound which was common in audio setups of the past.

1.) Pekomama's Debut Stream (Real)

Hands down, the best VTuber April Fools' prank of 2024 goes to Usada Pekora's mom, who brought in 180,000 concurrent views in a single stream.

The live stream on the hololive talent's channel has been viewed 2.2 million times on YouTube.
