20 Games You Don’t Wanna Miss During the Steam Scream Sale

Happy Halloween! Since the #SteamScreamSale is almost over, we want to highlight a few games that we feel have been overlooked in this sale. 🎃

Hey it's Elle and Booster with a little treat for you guys this Halloween. This year Gabe has decided to spoil us a little early and unleashed a mega sale for a whole bunch of horror games!

But, there are so many on sale this year (440 games to be exact) that we decided to pick some of the best games that you might not have played yet.

Deadly Premonition - $2.49

Deadly Premonition is what you get when you mix Twin Peaks with the awkward dialogue of House of the Dead. It's a game that has a lot jank to it, but also a lot of charm. If you can ignore its mechanical problems, for $2.49 you'll have a blast.

Crypt of the NecroDancer - $2.99

Mix a rogue-lite with a rhythm game and throw in some sick beats and charming characters and you get one of the most unique games to come out in the last decade. If you haven't already played Crypt of the NecroDancer now is the time to get it.

Darkwood - $4.49

Darkwood is a survival horror game where the term "survival" is God. You'll be tasked with spending the day gathering supplies to fortify your base in a randomly generated forest, beacuse when Nightfalls you'll have to defend yourself against the very woods themselves which are out to kill you by any means.

Doom (2016) - $4.99

Bro, it's Doom. It's less then 5 dollars. Rip and tear.

Blasphemous - $6.24

Blasphemous is a very difficult action platformer with BEAUTIFUL art. You play as the Penitent One as you Hack and slash your way through this Judeo-Christian inspired Metroidvania.

Booster has 298 hours in the game so it's a hard recommend from him, especially at $6.24.

Yuppie Psycho - $6.66

In Yuppie Psycho you'll work yourself to death, literally. A fantasticly fun exploration RPG with creative enemies and beautiful pixel work. What sets this RPG apart from other RPGs is that instead of random encounters you'll have "Puzzle Bosses." Also, fun price tag.

Zombie Army Trilogy - $6.74

It's Zombie Nazis and you can fire bullets at them and watch their insides explode. Also it's 3 fully fledged games for around $7. Would it help if I told you that you could shoot Zombie Hitler in the balls and watch them burst?

Singularity $7.49

Singularity is a FPS set in russia where you are in control of a gauntlet that can manipulate time. You can revert your enemies to a cellular matter, or age them to dust. You can pause time to unload into your enemies, or if you miss a shot, simply rewind time to get your ammo back. GREAT GAME, SHOULD BE PLAYED MORE.

DUSK - $7.99

Do you like 90's FPS shooters? Do you like going fast? Do you like great music? Dusk is for you. A perfect homage to 90's FPS games, this game is every bit frustrating as it is insanely fun to play.

Duskers - $9.99

Duskers is sort of an interesting game. It's a game played through a command line where you control drones as you search derelict spaceship wrecks for information on why the universe died.

There is nothing like opening up a door and finding out that your one baby drone now has to deal with 50 enemies. You'll never match the speed that you typed in that one instance again.

Minoria - $9.99

Another Metroidvania with a beautiful artstyle, the story isn't great but the gameplay is tight andt he boss fights are fantastic. Also it's got some  Smokin Sick Style crazy combos, and a LOT of thighs.

Pumpkin Jack - $11.99

This game could have come out alongside games like Spyro, Crash, and Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and been right at home. This character Platformer is tons of fun with a great story where YOU are the villian defeating the heros. Combat is fun and every level feels different.

Tormented Souls - $13.39

If you like games like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Clock Tower or any of the classic PS2 horror games, this game was made for you.

The game takes a lot of the worst parts of the old Surival Horror (like Tank Controls) and improves on them making them enjoyable to use.

Thymesia - $19.99

Thymesia is what you get if you take Devil May Cry, Dark Souls and pepper in the chip damage mechanic of popular Fighting Games. It's a unqiue ARPG that has levels instead of open world, customizable Potions (esther flasks) and a system that has so much more depth than what you see on the surface.

Ghostwire: Tokyo - $24.99

Ghostwire: Tokyo is a really neat open-world RPG-"ish" FPS-"ish" game where you explore an abandoned Tokyo and take on many Japanese urban legends and yokai.

You have 3 main playstyles that you can mix and match to have your own unique character. Also, you the character design is rad. This is a great price for a game that will give you a lot of playtime.

That's about it! Though, a little known fact about themed sales is that there are always some sales that go on that have nothing to do with the "big sale." We wanted to Highlight them for you because we love ya.

Dragon Marked for Death - $19.99

Online Multiplayer Beat 'em Up with cute girls, unique fighting styles, cool enemies, and good music. We had a lot of fun with the grappling mechanics too.

Shantae and The Pirate's Curse - $9.99

This is, in my opinion, one of the best Shantae games to have ever come out. With fun platforming, great uh... assets... and a funny characters and story, this will be a $10.00 worth spending.

Frost Punk GOTY - $13.80

A Survival Colony Builder where the temperatures fluctuate, you have to balance heating against its resource requirements, and keeping your population healthy and fed, while trying to rebuild humanity and giving it ideological purpose.

Expect some events with choices where you'll often have to make some very hard choices to further your civilization.

Psychonauts 2 - $29.99

The long awaited sequel to the 3D Platformer, Psychonauts 2 does the unthinkable and not only recaptures that which made the first game so much fun, but also improves on most of the areas of the original bringing in a fresh new experience that still feels familiar.

Cyberpunk 2077 - $29.99

SO, IF YOU LIKED THE ANIME (Elle reviewed it), then you'll like the game. Please be warned that the game has a lot of bugs still, and its UI is a bit cumbersome. However, with modding and community patches, the game has become one of the best Western RPGs since Fallout New Vegas. But... definitely get some mods.
