NIJISANJI's Selen Tatsuki, Mika Melatika Recognized at The VTuber Awards 2023
NIJISANJI stars Selen Tatsuki and Mika Melatika are present at the recently-held awarding ceremonies of The VTuber Awards 2023 hosted by Filian, produced by Mythic Talent and broadcast from Weplay Esports Arena in Los Angeles Saturday, December 16.
Just before the main event, they were asked about their experience being part of the TSB holoNIJI Apex Legends Custom event, of which Selen is one of the organizers.
The production team had their nameplates switched, but in true VTuber fashion, they took it in stride and had fun taking each other's roles as they are interviewed by independent VTuber Sinder.
Selen is recognized twice—as Best FPS VTuber and as Gamer of the Year. She recognizes the rough competition she's faced with in both categories. Still, she did not expect to win the Gamer of the Year award, reading no acceptance speech at hand.
She thanks her agency for picking her up as one of their talents: "[...] before NIJI, I was like a nobody; I had like 10 to 30 viewers, and then I applied to NIJI with an application that was like, one-take, and I did it in like 30 minutes, and now I'm up here [...]"
Mika on the other hand is awarded the Best Philanthropic Event for her 60-Hour Charity Marathon for the benefit of Peduli Anak Foundation for child welfare in Lombok and Sumbawa, Indonesia.
"Thank you so much for everyone that supported the stream! [...] Is it about me, though? It's about everyone who went above and beyond to show their kindness and support to everyone around them, so shout-out to [Vexoria] and Vox [Akuma] for doing such an amazing thing as well."
Vox Akuma's charity stream for Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE) and Vexoria the Sun Eater's fundraiser for Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) are also nominated in the said category.
Other NIJISANJI talents nominated in various categories include Elira Pendora, Kuzuha, Hyakumantenbara Salome, Vox Akuma, Pomu Rainpuff, and Shu Yamino. Vox's fanbase, the Kindred; as well as the whole NIJISANJI organization are also nominated in different categories.
