Production Kawaii has terminated its contract with its 3rd generation member Oceane Otoishi effective February 1.
The agency's official statement cited several breaches of guidelines and contract as grounds for her termination. It specifically detailed the following breaches, two of which are according to her contract:
- Slander towards other talents and dissemination of false information
- Inappropriate contact with individuals outside the company without prior management approval
- Repeated violations of streaming guidelines
Oceane's YouTube channel and merchandise sales over at the agency's Booth page will be closed by the end of the month.
Her colleagues in Kawaii's 3rd generation Enchantasia—Peony Aeria, Miryu Kotofuji, Aletta Sky, Sava Safari—reacted to the announcement in support of the agency's decision.
Oceane is notable among the VTuber community as her YouTube channel was temporarily suspended nine days after her debut stream, not to mention she's open to using AI-generated art for her YouTube thumbnails.
This is the second talent termination within Production Kawaii's ranks. Second-generation member Neena Makurano was terminated last year after breaching several clauses in her contract including being involved in VTuber activities outside Kawaii.
