Project Kavvaii Announces Graduation of Lunetide Generation

In a separate statement provided to VTuber NewsDrop, Project Kavvaii stated that Airi and Mikazuki's IP will still remain as part of the VTuber project's ecosystem.

Project Kavvaii, the VTuber project under airasia, has announced that its Lunetide generation, composed of talents Airi Gwynevere and Mikazuki Mai. This was announced on the agency's official X (Twitter) account. The talents will graduate on March 31.

Following their graduation, they will both cease their streaming activities, as well as their YouTube channel memberships and Streamlabs pages. It is worth noting, however, that their recently-released webtoon series, Lunetide Bewitched, will continue to release new episodes up until the end of season.

In a separate statement provided to VTuber NewsDrop, Project Kavvaii stated that Airi and Mai's intellectual property (IP) will still remain as part of the VTuber project's ecosystem, though they did not specify what are their plans for it. The agency also stated that they decided to not renew the talent's contracts upon expiry due to changes in their business direction.

In addition, they also clarified that Project Kavvaii won't be shut down completely. However, they stated that they won't be venturing into talent management any time soon. This includes halting any plans for any VTuber auditions in the future.

This update is a far cry from Project Kavvaii's previous plans on expanding its lineup. During an interview with Anime Corner in 2022, Project Kavvaii had laid out plans for new auditions prior to the debut of the Lunetide generation.

The Lunetide generation debuted in April 2022, months before the graduation of Project Kavvaii's first VTuber talent Aozora Kurumi in August of the same year. At the time of this writing, Airi and Mai have 9,100 and 7,900 subscribers respectively.
