Japanese influencer business company CLaN Entertainment and popular entertainment brand Sanrio have officially announced the name of their VTuber project, which is called "Nyantasia". It is worth noting that the two companies first announced this collaboration back on July 31, where they opened auditions for said project.
A promotional video for "Nyantasia" has been released, which has been animated by popular indie animator Riri Yamashita who has worked on several VTuber music videos. Voice actress Nao Toyama, who has voiced characters in anime titles such as My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, The Devil Is a Part-Timer!, and Nisekoi, did the voice of the witch in the promo video.
Misumi, Nana Kagura, and Done Kanda will serve as the VTuber project's official illustrators. Meanwhile, Rariemonn, Jujube, and Date will serve as the official Live2D modelers. All original designs will come first from Sanrio.
Auditions for the new VTuber project will officially end on September 10. It is worth noting that they only will accept those who are at least 18 years old and is currently residing in Japan. However, the VTuber project is also on the hunt for those who can speak English and other languages aside Japanese. More information about their auditions can be found on CLaN Entertainment's website.
In an earlier joint press statement by both companies, the new initiative will allow both ClaN and Sanrio to develop a variety of influencer-drive activities. After the VTuber debut, they will be active in various situations, aiming to appear in the "SANRIO Virtual Festival," a metaverse event held by Sanrio, as well as in terrestrial TV programs involving ClaN, a member of the Nippon Television Group.
This is not the first time Sanrio has delved into VTubers, as it has its own brand VTuber named Natsume Renge. He debuted in October 2021 and is responsible for promoting Sanrio's various merchandises online and on company livestreams.
