Production Kawaii Joins Culture Entertainment Co.

Popular VTuber group Production Kawaii has announced that they are now a member of Japanese planning and production business Culture Entertainment Co. Ltd. (CE), aimed at expanding its intellectual property (IP) business. The announcement was made via the group's official Twitter account.

A peek at CE's website lists LOY Co. Inc., the parent company of Production Kawaii, as part of CE's IP business offering. Under this subsidiary business format, CE will aid in LOY's IP product development, including planning and development of related merchandise.

• Moreover, the business partnership aims at distributing said merchandise online, and will also see CE also doing management of talents and other internet creators. However, it is still unclear what management role CE will play towards the Production Kawaii talents.
• Other businesses affiliated within CE include various entertainment houses such as C & I Entertainment, music-centric agency otto inc., publishers Earth Star Entertainment and Tokuma Shoten Publishing, and ecommerce platform FAN+Life among others.

Culture Entertainment Co. Ltd. (CE) was founded in 2014 and operates as a planning and production business for entertainment entities, including television broadcast, video and music distribution, as well as expanding entertainment entities.

The latest milestone from Production Kawaii comes months after it held its very first VTuber concert in the United States back in July this year titled Forever Bloom.

• It should be recalled as well that the agency also successfully debuted the 3D models of its first and second generation members in January this year. This was a result of the Kickstarter project for the 3D model production in April 2022 as part of their “Kawaii Idol Project”.
• The project was backed by 380 people, with the amount crowdsourced amounting to ¥16,069,128 (around US$121,629.64).
